These days, a lot of information about dietary fat has been going around. You may agree that these things just makes us confused rather than enlightened. Why? Because they keep on changing. A few years back, there is a campaign on avoiding fat because it is bad for the health. Then another update was rolled out, saying that carbohydrates are the main culprit of unhealthy body and that fat is okay for consumption. The most recent studies show that fat can be good or bad – depending on which type of fat you consume. Confusing, isn’t it?
Fats can be classified into two: good fats and bad fats. Too much consumption of bad fats can ultimately lead to health issues. Some of these include fried fats, trans fatty acids, and saturated fatty acids. It is best to regulate your intake of bad fats and learn to identify them so you can avoid taking in too much of these things. Meanwhile, good fats are good for your overall health. These include polyunsaturated fatty acids and monounsaturated fatty acids.
